Welcome to Foxes Class

Foxes Foxes is where our wonderful Year 1 and 2 children learn.

Welcome to Foxes Class where Mrs Van Aswegen teaches our Year 1 and 2 children.

We enjoy planning all kinds of exciting topics and activities to deliver the curriculum in an engaging and inspiring way.

Together with Mrs Greenfield we work hard to support and challenge our pupils to do their best, whilst enjoying their learning. Please enjoy taking a look at our fabulous work!

Our learning

We are currently creating a brand new curriculum that will be bespoke to our wonderful school- our full curriculum map will be published when this work has been complete.

For the Autumn 2 half term we are learning:-

Maths:- We will be continuing to follow the maths national curriculum, based around our own adapted version of the White Rose Maths scheme of learning. We will also be using ‘Numbots’ and other games in class to encourage children to access it and  practice their number skills at home.

Science: Our Science Topic this term is ‘Light’. We will be investigating shadows, reflection and how light travels. This learning will support our Design Technology projects where we will design, make and evaluate light related products.

Topic and the wider curriculum:-Our topic this half term is  ‘books that take us on journeys’ this includes the following subject elements:-

The topic will be closely linked to developing skills in Geography. We will be looking at geographical similarities and differences in contrasting places, identifying and learning about key physical features and using maps, atlases and globes.  We will also look at journeys in our RE lessons with the Nativity story as our final text
