School Uniform

Orders can be made online at www.myclothing.com or purchased from other retail outlets. Second hand uniform is available – please contact the school office.

Iron on badges can be obtained from the school office.

Our expectation is that all children will wear uniform. Please put your child’s name on all items of uniform, including PE kit.

Winter

  • Barford School Sweatshirt or fleece (blue) with logo
  • Grey or black trousers
  • Blue or white polo shirt/blouse
  • Grey or black skirt
  • Grey or black pinafore dress
  • White or grey socks
  • Grey tights
  • Black shoes (no opened toed sandals)

Alternative Summer Wear

  • Grey or blue shorts
  • Grey or black skirt
  • Blue gingham shorts/culottes
  • Blue or white polo shirt/blouse
  • Blue striped or checked dress
  • White or grey socks or grey tights
  • Black shoes (no open toed sandals)

PE kit

  • White or light blue t-shirt or polo shirt
  • Black or dark blue shorts
  • Socks if tights are being worn
  • Trainers, preferably with Velcro fastening and a non-marking sole
  • Warm top and bottoms for poor weather (Navy blue or black plain jumper and non-branded jogging bottoms)
  • Wellington Boots to be kept at school for outdoor play during the winter months.

Swimming

  • One-piece swimming costume
  • Fitted trunks not shorts
  • Towel
  • Swimming hat
  • Googles – optional
  • Pupils can request changes to swimwear for religious reasons

NB: School trousers, shorts or skirts should be of a type and style sold specifically for school uniform. Casual jeans, fashion or sports trousers should not be worn. Jumpers, sweatshirts, polo shirts and shirts should also be of a type and style sold specifically for school uniform. The sweatshirt or fleece should be a colour as close to the school blue as possible (not black) and with the school logo on it and the logo is optional for any other school uniform items.

Jewellery and Hair Accessories

For health and safety reasons, children are not permitted to wear jewellery at school. The only exceptions to this rule are small ear studs on pierced ears. These must be removed for PE, Games and Swimming.

Strictly no make-up or nail varnish. Certain items of jewellery, such as the Kara bangle and certain items of headwear such as the turban or headscarf worn by pupils genuinely based on manifesting religious or racial beliefs of identity can be worn.

Long hair must be tied back with a plain hairband. Headbands should be plain and close fitting, with no additional adornments.

Watch – A watch may be worn including one that includes fitness tracking. We strictly do not permit watches that can be internet-enabled or have a built in camera.
